Privacy policy
We're still writing this page. Sintify never sells your answers or your attention — see the Security and privacy section on the home page for what that means in practice today.
Calls, video and captions
- Calls use LiveKit, a real-time audio and video infrastructure provider. Audio and, if someone turns their camera on, video travel between the two participants through LiveKit's servers.
- The camera is off at the start of every call. It only turns on if you turn it on, and you can turn it off anytime.
- Sintify doesn't record calls: the technical permissions each participant receives don't allow starting a recording.
- Sintify keeps a record of each call: who proposed it, who answered, its status and when it ended. It doesn't keep audio or transcripts. That record is deleted if you delete your account.
- Captions are optional and off at the start of every call. They only turn on if you turn them on.
- When you turn captions on, the other person's audio is sent from your device to Microsoft Azure (the Azure Speech service) to turn it into text and, only if you speak different languages, translate it. Sending stops when you turn them off, when the call ends or when you leave the call screen.
- Captions are shown only on your screen. Sintify doesn't keep the audio sent or the caption text.
- If the other person turns on their captions, you'll see a notice while your voice is being processed to show them.
- To produce captions, each device shares with the other the language set in the app and whether its captions are on.
Pending review: how long LiveKit and Microsoft keep the data they process, in which region they process it, and the legal basis for processing can't be determined from Sintify's code. There's also no defined retention period today for call records while the account exists. This section is a draft and doesn't replace legal review.
Advertising
- Sintify shows no ads on any private screen: not on your profile, your conversations, your calls or the onboarding.
- If there are ever ads, they appear only on the public content pages, which anyone can read without an account.
- Those ads are served by Google AdSense, which may use its own and third-party cookies to decide what to show. It never receives what you told Nova, your answers, your conversations or who you connected with.
- Anyone on a paid plan sees no ads anywhere.
